A crafting table is required for crafting most items in Minecraft. The crafting table gives the player access to a nine-slot grid for crafting. When you first start your world in Minecraft, you always want to build a crafting table first, because most of the things you need to survive are made in the crafting table (i.e pickaxe, sword, armor, etc).

- First, you'll attack a tree to gather someWoodblocks.
- You can obtain wood by holding down the left mouse button on PC or the right trigger on your console controller.
- Use the wood to create Wooden Planks. Go into thecraftingscreen in your inventory and drag the woodblockinto one of thecraftingslots.
- Remove any wood blocks left in the crafting area on PC/Mac/Linux. Then, fill all four spots in the crafting grid (2x2) with these new wooden planks, which will then output acrafting table.
- On consoles: open the crafting menu and select the table from the menu to build it. Move thecrafting tableinto the bottom row of your inventory.
- Exit the crafting screen and you should be set!
Tip: For those using Java Edition (PC/Mac), press the E key to open up the crafting menu.
